P Peru

Digitalising urban mobility for cleaner, smarter and more inclusive cities

Peru is strengthening the digitalisation of its transport sector to support cleaner, more inclusive and evidence-based mobility. The ACCESS project focuses on strengthening national policy frameworks and developing digital tools in Arequipa and Lima–Callao to support the transition to electric public transport, strengthen data collection and better understand mobility patterns among women and vulnerable groups

Why Peru?

A highly urbanised country accelerating clean mobility

Peru is one of the most urbanised countries in Latin America. The highly urbanised country aims to have a 40% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030. The ACCESS project supports Peru in closing this gap by piloting practical digital tools for electric public transport transition, data collection and mobility pattern analysis in Lima-Callao and Arequipa, while simultaneously strengthening the regulatory frameworks and institutional capacities needed to scale these solutions nationally.
